Editorial policy
Urban Civic Journal aims to make civic subjects understandable without smoothing away their complications. We value accurate wording, useful context and a clear distinction between explanation and opinion.
Accuracy and context
We check names, terms and factual statements against material appropriate to the subject, and take care not to imply that a general example describes every city. Where a process or rule varies by place, we say so rather than treating one arrangement as universal.
Independence
Editorial choices are made for their relevance to readers and fit with our subject. A commercial relationship does not guarantee coverage, favourable treatment or editorial approval.
Corrections
If you notice a factual error or an unclear passage, use the Contact page to tell us what you found and where. We review credible correction requests, update material when warranted and make the change clear in context.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid or partner material is labelled plainly so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial coverage. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; when an image is illustrative rather than documentary, we identify it accordingly.
A city is made in common.
We pay attention to the small details of shared life, and to the choices behind them. Clear context helps readers see how places and public processes connect.
